Creating a space for immersion
Olesia Korolevskaia (Sia Les) is a visual artist based in Germany.
In my practice, I explore states of transition and transformation through the metaphor of water.
I work with video, photography, and mixed media, creating visual spaces in which form, light, and color interact in fluid, ever-changing processes.
My practice is inspired by post-impressionism, surrealism, kinetic art, and the observation of human inner processes. I reflect on transitions between spaces where the old world no longer exists and the new has not yet been created. I am interested in this interval—the delicate state between the disappearance of the former form and the birth of a new one. Like water, which serves as the foundation of all existence in this world, my works are transformed into a living process through it.
I create images resembling dreams, memories, or states where reality and fiction exist as parts of a single space.
Light, color, blurring, translucency, alternative printing processes, and movement are important to me. I am interested in this interplay between control and unpredictability—between what I create consciously by choosing materials and forms, and what happens by chance, independently of me, through water and light.
For me, each work becomes a living space that changes, deepens, and evolves alongside me.
By connecting physical form and meaning through water, I immerse the viewer in a state where silence arises and an encounter with oneself becomes possible.
For me, creativity is a way of living, observing, and expressing my states of vulnerability and inner tension in the process of searching for answers and my own wholeness.
